In my books and stories, I write about the outcasts, the misfits, and the beautifully complicated. That’s me. Perhaps that’s you, too.
Creativity—which for me means writing—is an essential part of being human. For some people, tapping into our creativity can entail a different, and sometimes dangerous, process of shaking off society’s expectations of who were are supposed to be.
My mission with this letter is to give my fellow misfits practical advice for how to find a life of peace.
I live in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, with my two kids, my spouse, two horses, and many adopted pets.
